Landfill Mining is a process whereby the legacy MSW which was previously landfilled are excavated, stabilised, treated, segregated and disposed responsibly with an ultimate goal of reclaiming the land and providing freedom to the surrounding communities from the perils of air and water pollution. Landfill Mining came out as a saviour over the 'landfill capping' which had many negatives.
